  • The Wagner Housing Act: A Case Study of the Legislative Process, Timothy McDonnell, 1957 (Housing Act of 1937)\
  • Housing Reform During the Truman Administration Richard Davies, 1966 (Housing Act of 1949)
  • Government and Slum Housing: A Century of Frustration, 1969, Lawrence Friedman (Housing Act of 1954)
  • Robert Clifton Weaver and the American City: The Life and Times of An Urban Reformer, Wendell Pritchett, 2008, (Fair Housing Act and HUD Act)
  • Building Foundations: Housing and Federal Policy, edited by Denise DiPasquale & Langley C. Keyes, 1990 (Cranston-Gonzalez)
