Fri, 24 Sep 2010 22:06:00 +0000http://www.marketurbanism.com/?p=1380#comment-9024I wish I could figure out how anyone can ever get _new_ walkable urbanism without some strict (but simple) rules. “Voting” with one’s feet is necessary but there has to be a choice and the planning context, some common understanding, has to be there. I’ve yet to hear how it can be done. Certainly there can be no transformation of car-dependent suburban strip malls etc can ever be transformed into walkable urbanism without rules. Just can’t be done.
